Principles and Applications of Pressure Sensors

2024-07-16

Pressure sensors are a very common type of sensor in modern industrial production, mainly in various forms such as capacitive, resistive, piezoelectric, etc. By measuring the pressure exerted on an object and converting it into an electrical signal output, monitoring and controlling the pressure on the object can be achieved. In industrial production, pressure sensors are widely used in liquid level detection, flow measurement, and tire pressure monitoring, playing an indispensable role in the automation and precision of industrial production.

Capacitive pressure sensors use the principle of variable containers to measure the pressure magnitude of the measured object. When an object is subjected to pressure, the capacitance value inside its container will change, thereby outputting an electrical signal. Resistive pressure sensors, on the other hand, use the principle of voltage division to calculate the pressure level of an object by measuring the voltage. Piezoelectric pressure sensors use the principle of generating charges from piezoelectric crystals to measure and monitor object pressure.

Whether it is capacitive, resistive, or piezoelectric pressure sensors, their applications have become very extensive. In the fields of aerospace, aviation, transportation, etc., pressure sensors are widely used in equipment such as engines, barometers, and oil pressure gauges, providing solid support for the development and improvement of engineering technology. At the same time, pressure sensors are widely used in medical equipment such as ventilators and blood glucose meters to ensure the accuracy and safety of medical devices.

It is precisely because of the widespread application of pressure sensors in industrial production that modern industrial production has become increasingly precise, efficient, and safe. In the future, with the continuous advancement and improvement of industrial technology, pressure sensors are expected to become more intelligent and efficient industrial production monitoring and control equipment.
